how I wore a zara trench coat

I am so in love with everything Zara but this trench coat has to be my best purchase from there yet. I have been looking for a timeless trench coat with elements of French chic that will pretty much go with everything and take me though the seasons. Classic, versatile and modern.

This was my trench coat's first outing. I wore it for a days shopping in the lovely city of Leeds. It was an incredibly cold day and very windy, as you can probably see from my hair blowing around!

I wore it with a man's oxford shirt and jeans with my Topshop boots and beloved Ted Baker bag.

Zara always impress me with their winter coats. A great selection at such a good price. Have you got any other ideas of how I could wear my trench coat? I'd love to hear from you.

Have a great week lovelies.

cape at christmas in broadway

Broadway. The Jewel of the Cotswolds! That is how some people refer to this beautiful village and I agree. A charming, magical place which holds a special place in my heart. I always get quite emotional when I visit here as it is still unspoilt and very beautiful. A piece of paradise.

Broadway dates back as far as the Roman times and at one time boasted thirty three public houses which there are still signs of today. Many of the limestone buildings date from the 16th century. The front doors of these lovely houses are just delightful in themselves.

This has to be my favourite row of houses in the village. Can you imagine living in one of these?

We came across this guy driving an Austin 7 racing car that he was restoring. He looked like he would have been at home in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'! He posed for us and we gladly took a photo of him as he said he didn't have any photos of him in his pride and joy! Then off he went with a cheery adieu in his German accent!
I wore my much loved cape for this trip. I have a real love for capes and own quite a few in different colours! I wore it with a soft, comfy pink sweater and jeans and my Zara scarf. I spotted the booties when I was out shopping with my daughter. We both fell in love with them so we both bought a pair!

We stayed all day browsing round the village and quaint, little shops. I wanted to see the Christmas lights before I went home and I'm so glad I did; just beautiful.

Have a lovely Wednesday.

how to wear polka dots and spots

I am in so love with polka dots and spots right now! The Zara jeans I have had for a while, they are very similar to a pair of Marc Jacobs jeans that were retailing at £110! These were £30; a bargain! I have always wanted a polka dot blouse so I was very happy when I saw this one in Topshop. I think the blouse and jeans work well together. What do you think?

We took these photos in a cute little village not far from where we live. The sun kept trying to come out! We were on our way to a quaint pub for lunch. A great way to spend a Saturday!

What would you wear a polka dot blouse with? Linking up with Patti at Not Dead Yet Style for Visible Monday, Elena from DC in Style for Monday Bloom, Renae from Simply Sequins for Fashion Friday and Rachel from Rachel The hat for Passion for fashion, Friday Fab Favourites and What I Wore.

green day

A lovely day for wearing my Zara blazer, cold but beautifully sunny! I paired it with a blue and cream striped blouse and my darling Topshop jeans. I felt I needed a scarf to add a splash of colour so I had a hunt through my scarf drawer and I found this at the back. I had forgotten all about it; ideal, and with a picture of the Eiffel Tower!

The orange in the scarf is a perfect match for the bag, it has a detachable strap and I have to say I prefer using it more as a clutch.

We decided on a visit to the Botanical Gardens today, a lovely place to chill and relax all year round. I'm looking forward to the summer when we can lay out on the grass with a picnic, reading and watching the world go by. Around the corner from the park is a deli shop which make the most delicious sandwiches and melts. I am determined to have a go at recreating my own at home (watch this space!)

cape convenience

Another cape I hear you say! Aren't they the easiest items to wear and so warm and cosy for wintery weather. There was a definite moment of 'I must have that coat' when I saw it. The flair and style was the first thing I noticed; it stood out to me as soon as I walked in the shop.

Thought I would keep the rest of my outfit simple with black skinny jeans and boots, as the cape is a big enough statement of its own.

I love the detail of the sleeves, I bought these gloves that cover up my arms for when it is cold. I think they work perfectly with the cape.

Just had to get a couple of pictures in of these cute ducks that were on the canal, they enjoyed their lunch of bread that we kindly took down for them! I call these boots my swashbuckling ones and to say they are quite high they are very comfortable and I can easily dance the night away in these.

for the love of cape!

I have to say I love my trusty Zara cape. I have had it a while now but it still feels like new. It is so versatile, being able to dress it up and wear with jeans. Today I wore it for a shopping trip with my daughter (very easy to take on and off when trying clothes on!).

I had been searching for quite a while for a bag this shape and I finally found one, unexpectedly, in a shop where I would never have thought of looking. I was a very happy girl! The scarf was a stocking present from S which I think works well with the cape, and its sooooo soft and cosy too.

I thought I would test these lovely brogues out today. They have been sitting in the wardrobe waiting to be worn since I bought them in a sale. They are the same colour as the maroon in my dress and I adore them. Brogues are definitely one of my favourite types of shoes to wear.

evening flair

I wore this outfit for an evening stroll. Both the skirt and jumper are newbies from Zara, which is filling my wish list right now. Although not an obvious combination, I think the jumper and skirt work really well together. All the material in the skirt makes it really floaty when I walk.

I think the ribbon on the back of the jumper is an unusual touch, although my long hair does tend to hide it.

I still can't get used to having my photo taken, especially in public.

bang on trend

You know how much I like lace dresses, well here is one that is right on the money at the moment. The soft, lemon sorbet lace collar pairs beautifully with the colour and texture of the wedges. All it needs then is a a plain clutch and a simple bracelet to finish the look off. Lovely for a summer's eve.
